Marcelo Garcia, a distinguished Brazilian combatant and 4th-degree black belt, is back to BJJ training. He has resumed training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu after his recovery from illness. Marcelo Garcia had been battling stomach cancer, undergoing numerous chemotherapy treatments and esophageal surgery in New York. His final chemotherapy session took place on September 7, 2023. His illness forced him to take a year-long break from BJJ training. Now, Marcelo is delighted to be back on the mats, sparring once again. Marcelo announced his return to his fans through his official Instagram account:

“So, finally, the day has come. It has been 11 months, almost a year, since I don’t trained in Jiu-Jitsu. I’m just excited to see how everything is gonna go, I hope to get back to as normal as possible, I just can’t wait”

Following a significant period of BJJ training, Marcelo conveyed his joy and also recognized his followers for their unwavering support. Marcelo further stated that he feels pretty normal after his return to BJJ training.
